I do wonder how people "become" Makkah Imams... I heard being a Saudi is a minimum requirement, which is why Mishary Rashed Alafasy was not accepted?
Sheikh Qasim is the only one leading prayers in madinah?
yes sheik budair is not in the country.He has trvelled to Djibouti on an official visit for 10 days.
@anon#1. Did Mishary Rashed Alafasy apply? He is my favorite reciter, but the current Makkah imams are also beautiful reciters. I love them all.
I did hear about someone applying and not being accepted since he wasn't Saudi. Not sure about him though...
