What happend to my beloved sh.Muhammad Ayoob? so many mistakes
Recently the Sheikh is not well, he was admitted into King Fahd Hospital just a few days ago. Sheikh suffers from diabetes.
Therefore when he first led taraweehs last week, while leading the prayer, he suffered from diabetes (As you can tell from his voice)!
A lot of people (Even in Masjid An-Nabawi) think that the sheikh is making mistakes due to memory loss, however this is not the case. He's very ill at the moment.
May Allah give the sheikh full recovery!
It seems Sheikh ayub is having anxiety while leading taraweeh this year. He was feeling breathless also. May be these are due to age related or maybe due to he is leading in masjid nabwi after such a long time after( he was removed because being ajmi)
BTW I have the same problem while leading taraweeh & it bothers me to such extent that I am not leading taraweeh this year.my voice shivers & I forget everything. I feel breathless. May Allah make it easy for Sheikh ayub.

SubhanAllah,may Allah help Sheikh Ayub, cure him, protect, always be with him. Ameen. Insha Allah, to hear him leading salaahs in Masjid
Nabawi in the near future. It seems that it doesn't need much efforts like taraweeh or tahajjud. I like his recitation and dua mashaAllah!

Why was the Shaykh removed from the prophets mosque in the 90's? Comment above say it was due to him being ajmi. What is that?
Like i said. Sheikh Ayub should rest and Sheikh Thubayti can replace him. May Allah swt help him as soon as possible!!
People who are non Arab are called 'Ajmi'
Sheikh ayub was born in Saudi Arabia but his father was from Burma. This is the reason he was removed as imam of masjid nabwi.
If the comment saying Sheikh ayub having diabetes is correct then let me tell you I was the one who commented it was anxiety & I also have the same problem. Guess what I am a diabetic since a child. Diabetes is a very bad disease.even if it is controlled well it invites plenty of diseases sometimes. May Allah protect everyone from diabetes & give health to everyone. Ameen

I think it's highly unlikely that Shaykh was 'removed' (if indeed that is what happened) because of his being non-Arab. He lead for many years prior to his departure and was the Imaam at Quba for many years. If his being non-Arab was an issue, he wouldn't have (been allowed to) lead for so many years at these prestigious Masjids!
Also, he wouldn't have been called back for Taraweeh this year!
