I am sure sheikh sudais will be fine IA but this is a stunningly good surprise Alhamdulillah! If I had to guess Sheikh Sudais probably has tremendous rrsponsibilitites with this being his first Ramadan in his new Presidential position and as such he decided to give Sheikh Ghamdi the chance. Beautiful!
Probably Sheikh Sudais did not lead the taraweeh prayer because he had to prepare for the Jumuah Khutba which he will deliver today at Makkah.

MashaAllah! It was such a pleasant surprise to see Sheikh Ghamdi! I couldn't believe it! The first time he has led taraweeh in Makkah, it was very good MashaAllah. I wonder if in the last 10 days he will be given a chance to lead taraweeh. Would be great it Sheikh Talib also leads taraweeh in the last 10 days. I think Sheikh Sudais will be back tomorrow.

Alhamdulillah Sh Khaalid led tarawih in Masjidil Haram this year :-) I remember asking the admin on FB if he will lead tarawih this year, since last year he led tarawih in Masjidun Nabi.

Sheikh ghamdi has led a prayer in makkah just exactly after 1 week, because the last time he prayed was thursday the 4th of July during the rota season, and yesterday was thursday after one week, what a coincidence, Allahu akbar!

Sheikh Khalid's style was quite impressive but still really missed the Sheikh Sudais's witr's dua.

Sheikh Khalid Al-Ghamidi substituted Sheikh Al-Sudais for only one night. He is not appointed to lead for the whole Ramadan. Not sure if Sh.Khalid will continue to lead in Masjid Al-Nabawi.
No, Sheikh Khaalid al Ghamdi has not led Taraweeh in Masjid al Haram before.

About the part of Sheikh Khalid al-Ghamdi, Aal-E-Imran [64-151]: The last 3/4 rak’at are most gorgeous; best or near I think. Somewhat slower will be better perhaps. May Allah upgrade Sheikh.
