Khateeb is reserved for a person who will lead Jummah Salah, eid Salah, or Istisqa Salah as these require Khutbahs. Imam only requires daily salawat, taraweeh, or khusuf prayer as khusuf prayer doesn't have an actual khutbah from the mimbar, rather just a short 5-10 mins. reminder.

South African muslims are very lucky t-Muaqili. I was in Haram at the time of last Hajj and sheikh led maghrib's salah and that was a gift for me that I perfomed my namaz in his leading. I wish that sheikh arrange ao perform their namam back of SMH Al visit to pakistan me and my whole family a very big fan of him.

Assalmu Alaykum Everyone, Just to let u know....Maghrib &Isha led By SHK Mahir in South Africa today was cancelled as I heard it on Radio Islam due the Shaykh being really exhausted.May Allah bestow his mercy on Skh Mahir and return his health to normal Ameen
That makes sense...his schedule has been super packed and you could hear the effect of it in his voice in lasts nights Isha. Feel bad for the Sheikh. :(
This is realy sad,I am very worried. I hope he will b ok very soon i am reaty concerned how bad is it? I expect shk Maher missing precious mekkah..inshaAllah the days goes by quickly n shk returnes safely back home ameen.. i can feel that this amazing shk is extra sensetive mashaAllah bless him. plz can u let me know inshaAllah when he is better jazakumullah khair..
shiekh maahir will perform jumu'ah Salaah today insha allah ,as per shedule, signs of recovery..the shiekh has toured other countries and been on busy schedules before..allah knows best.
some of sheikh maahirs programmes r cancelled due to sheikhs illness.... the sheikh wanst feelin well...they had a doctor come in... sheikh maahir was supposed to be in sandton tonite, but its been cancelled... only jummah is being performed..

well sheikh is exorsted traveling from cape town to Durban to Gauteng which is a 7 and 8 hour journey sheikh is really tired i fell him sorry being carted from place to place and having to shake soo many peoples hands it seems that if you give him a break he will be pleased

Does khateeb not mean the imam that leads jummah salah and the jummah Khutbah. As far as I remember this is the meaning of khateeb. Allah knows best.

It broadcasts live. Maghrib and Isha in South Africa are after Makkah, I heard 'Isha around 9PM Makkah time I believe.

Sheikh maahir, is fine, he was a bit exhausted but has recovered.. he is going to durban today for the week and will return back to saudi next week.
