I wouldn't be surprised if he's a haafiz - Egypt is known for producing famous recitors. Even ordinary Egyptians enter qiraat competitions, and they've got a high level of tajweed. Also, in his first speech a few weeks ago, he mentioned a few hadeeths, off by heart.

@Muhammad Yasir sheikh Ghamdi is reading tarawee in madina Munawara so i don't think he will read fajr in Makkah Mukarama.
