Alhamdulillah dats an awesome news soo lucky people to have sheikh mahir as a guest in your country i feel gutted nd wished if sheikh was coming to United Kingdom but nevermind if ALLAH wills he'll surely visit us in U.K very soon.
Anony #1, that's a pretty serious claim to make. He will be going to the masajid though, not the radio station, and I'm sure the ulama will be in charge of making sure the food is completely halaal. If not, then they should have taken care of that first instead of inviting an imaam.

@Anon 1- Yeah, I'm pretty sure that masjid will do their best to feed Shaykh Maher only halal and tayyib foods. South Africa has one of the best halal industries in the world and you have to think that Shaykh Maher will know if they are feeding him pork.

South Africa is indeed very lucky. The South African muslims were even blessed in 1431/32 with Sheikh Ghamdi's (my favorite) tour for several days. I am from South Africa but now live in the U.S.A. If I were still in S.A. I'd defenitely pay them visits. I've been to Makkah twice alhamdulillah but never was able to speak with Sheyookhil Haramain. Insha'Allah one day.
i dont know anything of hallal haram?i live in kroonstad plz brig sheikh here just to visit although i am unworthy of having his holy presence.
SALAAMS, please delete the post from anon 1, it is misleading and untrue. radio islam has leading ulema and the south afrivan muslims will ensure that the shiekh will be treatd warmly and fed well. we do not have any problems obtaining halaal food in south africa.it is easily avail and he will be eating with muslims. excited to meet the shiekh and hear his qiraat!

Sheikh Taalib and Thubayty do know English, do not know about Sheikh Maahir.
The imams go to other countries for the purpose of only deen from the invitation of a pious person from the same country and or if he is granted permission from the shura comittee. The haram imams are rich at a good extent. a islamic scholar is payed from government if the country is islamic. this is one of the rules from the time of sahabas. Sorry to be a bit harsh but next time do not ask such questions.

why dont the imams visit qatar its saudi arabias neighbouring country qatar have its border only with saudi arabia i think so sheikh shuraim have visited qatar in 1998or 1999 not sure of the year but he have visited
