After reading the comments about how someone can read through their nose I thought I will comment. Reading through the nose is a common mistake in the science of tajwid. If one does not open the mouth to pronounce fath-hah, lower the jaw to pronounce kasrah or circle the lips to pronounce the dhammah then instead of the sound coming through the mouth it will come through the nose. You can test this by pinching your nose and reading. It is only the quality of ghunnah which will come through the nose. By the way, we currently have a Sheikh visiting our town he has been teaching tajwid in the Prophet (saw)'s masjid in Madinah for over 50 years and he has also listened to many of the imams of the haramain read.

The nasal sound is coming from the recording...the shaykh does not read through his nose

Salam, i believe this is Sheikh Omar Suleiman if i am not mistaken. He is in New Orleans,Louisiana, USA. He has many videos online. Search him
This is actually Hafidh Omar Yousuf. Omar Suleiman was the imam of this masjid but has moved now.
