Apparently it's too dangerous for Shaykh Hudhaify to lead now. I was told that he still comes to the masjid (to pray behind and also give ijaazahs in qiraah), but he comes and leaves with policemen. Unfortunately there are many saudi shias who could cause fitnah. Recently there have been disturbances by shias near qubaa masjid.
i sincerely hope our dear sheikh Hudhaify comes back to lead salah soon. He is a brave man and a true muslim who has never been afraid of speaking the truth. May Allah bless him and protect him and hope he returns soon.
Any estimate date as to when he could return ? i hope before ramadan atleast.
There is no estimate of when Sheikh Hudhaify could return. The only news that is being spread is that he has permanently retired from his duties as imaam and khateeb. And Allah alone knows best, and only He has control over all matters.
I am extremely sad to hear you mention that Sheikh Hudhaifi has retired permanatly?? if this is the case then this is extremely sad news..
Why does he have to retire? just because he isnt afraid of speaking the truth?? if anything we need more true muslims like him in such times.. I sincerely hope the management reconsiders its decision and lift this suspension from him because such a great imam should leave on his own terms.. and not by some suspension.
Alhamdulillah, wih the help of HR, we're still able to enjoy sheikh Hudhaify's recitation from archives. I think Shaykh Hudhaify has the most posts (1500+). He has been leading Isha regularly for years, maghrib and fajr many times, istisqaa, eclipse, eid etc. On the other hand Shaykh Qasim has the least i think. I remember he rarely used to lead 3 or 4 years ago, only a few dozen times. I guess its a chance for him to make up for them.

^ True. There are moments when I still miss his voice. It's a blessing that there are recordings of him, and of Sheikh Hudhaify too.
