assalaamu alaikum, south africa has been grieving last night, a great shiekh had passed away,ML Yunus Patel(allah fill his grave with nur).the greatest of out time.Sheikh shuraim had read his janaza this morning. allah give sabr to the ppl of SA and to his family.ameen.

Is a video of the salatul janazah available? A very famous scholar Shaykh Yunus Patel (RA) passed away yesterday in Makkah Mukarramah while making du'a, his Janaza was led by Sh. Shuraim.
May ALLMIGHTY ALLAH bless Sheikh Shuraim for this excellent recitation, bless all other imams and all Muslim Ummah in general.

maashaAllah...nice to hear Shaykh Shuraim reciting full surahs in each rakah - he could've easily split Surah Tahreem or Mutaffifeen into two rakats if he wanted to.

Awesome recitation MashaAllah! Its so gr8 to have sheikh shuraim back in fajr! This reminded me of the 2007 recitation of the same surahs..and when I scrolled down, u guys had already posted a link of that old recitation! Jazakallah khair!!

Regarding the janaza salaah, unfortunately the TV channels do not air it, the mcs are shut off immediately after salaam. May Allah mercy on Maulana Yunus Patel and all the ulama who passed on. He led a good life and earned an amazing death...

How did the molana pass away?
Maulana Yunus Patel passed away on the Mataaf close to the Kaaba. He completed tawaaf, made maghrib salaah, made dua & shortly thereafter breathed his last. It was always his wish to die in the Haram. Alhamdulillah. We in South Africa will miss him very much but we are very satisfied that a man of his calibre got this beautiful death.
MUhammad Shafi I don't agree that Shaikh Shuraim copies anyone. He has his own beautiful unique voice and style of reading. Very difficult to copy him as well. He has his own style why must he copy anyone else? May Sheikh lead fajr in Ramadaan and read the dua in taraweeh this year. Ameen. Thumma Ameen
Ataghfirullaah!? Yes may Allaah have mercy on all muslims that are dead, BUT how can someone call themselves maulaana! Only Allaah is the Maulaana, as Allaah tells us at the end of Surah-tal-Baqarah? I find it hard to believe as alhamdullillaah Shuraym is Salafee (the one straight path, the saved sect), so why would he lead janaazah for yusuf patel (rahimahullaah)? Wallaahu'alam.

y do the saudi imaams where scarfs its sunnah to where a turban.
Brother Abu Abdul-Qahar, the term Maulana being used to refer to an Imaam / Sheikh is typical in the Indian subcontinent and typically Sheikh is not used except in special cases. It is not shirk, and the mawla has many meanings.

What an Excellent death Maulana Yunus Patel recieved. I pray to ALLAH he grant each one of us a Death like his while making dua.(or as one brother stated, after making Tawaf)
Mashallah, as always, Sheikh Shuraim cannot be beaten. Sheikh Shuraim recited both the surah's BEAUTIFULLY! Mashallah. May Allah make it very easy for Sheikh Shuraim to lead Taraweeh salah this year and bless him and grant him Jannatul-Firdaus. Ameeen.
