So reassuring to hear Sheikh Shuraim again. Awesome recitation mashaAllah.. Really really miss his regular prayers..don't know why he has stopped leading daily prayers
v nice khutba n salat we miss him alot in regular salat specially in fajar salat .Its strange 4 me that except him all other imams r coming on their turn. we want 2 listen his heart touching recitations soon.may .ALLAH bless him n other imams always

Sheikh Shuraim(Allah yahfazh)is a full time Specialist professor at Umm Al Qura. So his main duty is a Professor not Imam Al Haram. We have to understand that, many of the Imams have multiple jobs. Although, we do miss Sheikhna Shuraim, we have to be happy for him at same time. Jazakum Allah khairan wa Hadhakumullah.

I would like to mention that I read in wikipedia that Sheikh Shuraim was employed as a teacher in "Ma'had Al-'aali Lilqadhah" in 1410 AH (1989). In 1991, he was made Imam and Khateeb of Masjid al-Haram by the order of Custodian of the Two Holy Harams, King Fahad bin AbdulAzeez Al-Saud. In 1992, by Royal order, he was appointed judge in the High court of Mecca. In 1993, the High approval was made for him to teach in the Holy Masjid. In 1995, he pursued the Doctorate degree in the Umm Al-Qura University of Makkah. He has since been serving as a professor at the Umm al-Qura University in Makkah. In recent years he has been the dean of the faculty of "Shari'ah and Islamic Studies". In June 2010, he was promoted from the rank of "Professor" to the rank of "Specialist Professor in Fiqh" by the president of the university Dr. Bakri bin Mat'ooq. Sheikh Shuraim is a memorizer of the Qur'an (a Hafiz) and is well known for his deep voice and smooth recitation style. He is Sheikh Sudais cousin as their tribes are related to each other.
So, though he is still an imam, yet he is doing the job of a professor as well.
we know he is a professer but being a imam he shuld cme at least 4 one salah as no more job is greater than being an imam of Haramain
I don't think being a judge was less work, yet back then the Sheikh used to lead Fajr every day. But if it is about the work, then they really should place him to lead at least a couple weeks. He hasn't led regular salaah since July? And that too wasn't for long, although I am grateful for it.
I am sure its not just his duty as a professor thats stopping him from leading salat more in Masjid Al Haram. There may be other reasons,Allahu 3lam. You see back then, Sheikh Shuraim used to lead because there weren't that many Imams like now. Imam Ibn Humaid is the main Imam for Salat Al Fajr, and Sheikh Shuraim used to take his spot most of the times because Ibn Humaid is mainly in Riyadh cause of his other duties. I really do miss Sheikhna Shuraim's powerful recitations in Fajr. But everything is in the hands of Allah azza'wajal.
