An awesome recitation yet again by Sheikh Shuraim.he is no doubt my fav recitor.the rare tune is absolutely fabulous though his original one obviously has no competition.
Any tune that Shaikh Shuraim does is fabulous, and I have to say I agree with anonymous (2). This tune he actually tends to go into when he has previously been emotional in previous recitation, and you can hear a slight shakiness of the voice here.

assalaam u alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh a really heart touching recitation this is, specially when you also think about the meanings of these verses. I have no words to explain my emotions about shaikh and specially about this recitation, whoever remember the Ramadhan 1428, he will remember this recitation, juma Khutbah delivered by him on 28th september 08 in ramadhan, and 28th night tahajjud recitation of him.

aside from the tahajjud salah on the 28th night of ramadan 1428 in which he recites surah a'raf, can anyone please tell me any other recitations of shaikh shuraim where he changes his recitation and recites in this manner?...i actually much prefer this to his normal recitation style (which i love more than anyone else's, btw)...i was actually in the haram (on the roof) when he lead that tahajjud salah on the 28th of ramadan, and believe me, it was AMAZING mashallah!...and after i returned home from umrah, i couldn't listen to any other recitation other than that for about 5 months...may Allah preserve shaikh shuraim...
A couple of years ago, a 30th ramadhan, they prayer Surah Kahaf in taraweeh and Sheikh Shuraim used the same tune. This was the first time he used this tune. I have this recitation on a casette. Someone mentioned that this is referred to as the Hijazy tune???
no you are supposed to prononce it majrayha i know it looks diferent in the quran but the scholars of tajweed say this one of the places in the quran where you do emalah or say it majrayha thsi is the bigist one in the quran

As salaamu alaykum. First I would like to say Jazakumullah khayral jazaa for this beautiful platform. Secondly, does any of the brothers or sisters know who the imams where in the year of 1416 a.H. in Madinah al Munawwarah. Tehre is a cassette box which I have from Taraweeh from tht year with Huthayfi, Thbayti and another imam who is not named- this imam recites the last verses of Surah al- Hajj; I would like to know his name. Can anyone help insha Allah?
Wa'alaykum al-salam brother Sulaiman, the Imams for taraweeh in 1416 in Madinah were: 'Ali al-Huthayfi, 'Abd al-Bary al-Thubayti for Taraweeh. And 'Ali al-Sudais and Mohammed Ayyoub for Tahajjud, and 'Ali Al-Huthayfi did the Witr.

In addition to the lectures Sheikh Shuraim delivers in the Masjid al Haram daily, he also teaches at Umm al Qura University where is also a Dean.

he says majreeha cause that is hw u pronounce it. this has a different rulin, the shaykh is correct.
thnx for teling abt majreeha. i used 2 recite majrayha but after listening 2 Sheikh Shuraim had changed to majreeha.
azhar if u type rare tune on this very site u will find another similar recitation, tht being of 1419/1998.
