Alhamdulillah Sheikh Mahir Al Mu'ayqali completed his doctorate from Umm-ul-Qura University Makkah, securing first division. The following video shows Sheikh having discussion (Debate), on his thesis work, in the presence of Head Scholar (Mufti Aam) Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Ale Sheikh along with many other prominent scholars (Teachers).

Assalam. What's the criterion of first division? Previously HR published this news once more, 13 Dec. 12. We saw Sheikh achieved 98% of excellence. So first division means, 80%/70%/90% excellence?

I think first division means minimum 80% of excellence.
Looking at the Mufti Aam I remember the verse of Surah Tur, “wal bahril maszur”, number 40 of Sura Nur, “.....mawzun min fawqihi mawzun.....”. Becaise Sheikh’s airing is like sea flutter. What a..... wave!!!

Talking about the research/thesis of Al-Quran Recitation:
Now a day much research is being carried out on literature, poem, song, drama and novel in the world also in Muslim world. As well much research has been done about various chapters of Al-Islam. Although Al-Quran is the center and heart of all art, literature and culture; much research is not being carried out on the Quran recitation. The Quran airing also is importantly connected to its miracle. So it is necessary to do sufficient research on Al-Quran Tilawat. Additional that, to realize or narrate the Quran perfectly it is necessary to follow word translation. Its word arranging is a part of its marvel also.
The latest herald Ahmad [Sm.] was a great reciter. He pronounced Al-Quran in Dawah work. Some of his companions were also glorious speaker. We may also remember that, Hajrat Daud [Asm.] was the greatest reciter in the human history. There are specific chapters in Hadith books about Al-Quran showing. So Muslim scholars and reciters should come forward to this issue like others chapters of Al Islam. Jazakumullah Khairan.
