Question

A visitor has asked the following questions. If you are able to answer, please do inshaAllah!

"Can anyone answer these questions for me kindly. When Shaykh Shuraim travels to riyadh or outside the country aswell as other imams, do they have to do umrah when they enter the blessed land again?
In which way do they go about doing umrah e.g. doing tawaf and sai, as it's quite rare for people to have seen the imams actually doing umarah?
Have the imams of masjid al haram ever entered the Ka'bah, as the imams of Masjid nabwi have entered the tomb of the prophet? جزاك الله خير شكرا جزيلا "

I don't know about the first two questions, but for the third question, I know they let Shaykh Hamza Yousuf and his group go inside the Rawdah. But, around all of graves, there are three walls, so you really can't see the graves. I dont know if they let the imams in, but even if they did, I doubt the imams saw the actual graves.

I'm pretty sure that the imams have been inside the Kaaba. A whole bunch of people go in with the king when he goes so I dont see why they would let the imams in.

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem
Every person that enters the miqaat is required to perform Umrah. However there is a difference amongst the scholars as for the people who are living or working inside the miqaat. According to the Hanafi school of thought whether they live or work in Mecca, they must perform Umrah once they enter the miqaat. But according to other schools of thought (or the majority) one doesn't have to perform Umrah if they are residents or if they work there. Although It is agreed upon that it is better if they perform Umrah once crossing the miqaat. Hope that answers question one.

I think sheikh humaid once entered Kabaa. but for the other, i dont know.
and about Prophet's tomb, i read somewhere that the door to the grave is only opened when they want to change the cloth of the grave, the last time it's opened was in 70s, wallahualam.

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu

I believe the question can well be answered by Ulema themselves in case of Umrah rulings for Residents of Makkah Mukarramah (as here with Shaikh Sa'ood Ash Shuraim), as and when they go to and fro out of the City Makkah Mukarramah. But where as the question of Imam's entering the house of Allah...., maybe as per their availability at the moment of opening of the house they may have entered, and else they may haven't. Since, all Imams apart from their duty of being Imam of the Masjid-e-Haram, they also hold many important positions in various institutions, their availability at the movement of opening of the Ka'ba would be scheduled for some other important task, of which they hold authoritative position.

If so many ordinary people and associates of the king have entered it..., will not the Most High Position holders(Imams of the Holy Mosque-Bait ul Haram) have entered it?

Answer 1
I never heard that every time you entre Miqat you HAVE TO do Umrah but it might be as someone commented that each school have different opinion about this issue.
So it’s not you HAVE TO
Answer 2
I think Imams of Makkah can enter if they want when the governor of makkah washes the kabaah from inside or they might do but it’s hard to see them on t.v.
Answer 3
Shaikh Abdul Muhsin AL Qasim imam of masjid -e- nabwi explained this in deep detail he said “the original grave place of our prophet (S.A.W) is surrounded by 4 walls meaning
1 iron wall
2nd wall
3rd wall then 4th wall then space then the actual grave he added the Prophet (S.A.W) made dua that (O Allah Save my grave or do not let anyone come near my grave)or something similar to this dua
So the distance between where the people today stand to send salam is 25meter away from the grave and because of the 5 walls even the V.V.I.P people cannot reach it.

Regards
w.salam

A1:
No, they don't have to. It's a personal choice if they want to perform Umrah or not.

A2:
They perform Umrah the way everyone does but they would be surrounded by security police officers. Some of them, however, would perform it with out any security as they believe they can't be recognised easily and whoever recognises them they would shake hands with them on the spot and continue their Umrah. I have spotted Shiekh Khaild Alghamdi once praying with prayers wearing Thobe & Ghutrah (the daily saudi clothing) when Shiekh Mahir was leading.

A3:
Any Imam can enter the Ka'bah.

what happened on the mataf today just before fajr ??///

Regarding Umm al Qura, for a woman to enroll she needs to have completed high school or received a certificate equivalent to high school, be younger than 23, and have a mahram join her.

As for citizenship, you need to have first resided in Saudi Arabia for a a minimum of 15 years, have a degree in something like medicine, law, engineering, etc, and know Arabic. Allah knows best.

I do not know about your last question, and nor do I know what happened on the mataaf to the person who inquired about that.

Ok, whether the imams have to perform umrah or not, that is a different story, but Im sure they do perform umrah, since they are there for so long and i remember a few times shaykh shuraim was wearing ihraam while praying eid, that means he was performing or had performed umrah, they probably dont have guards as only a few people would recognize them. and allah knows best.

The imams do umrah underground

Anonymous said...

oh yeah, i agree wit anonymous 7. Imams are quite hardly to be recognized. I don't why but when they're not wearing bisht (because we see them mostly wearing bisht, perhaps) they look different. So maybe imams are doing umrah or hajj but most people don't recognize em

To the main Questions
• Can anyone answer these questions for me kindly? When Shaykh Shuraim travels to Riyadh or outside the country as well as other imams, do they have to do umrah when they enter the blessed land again?
NO they don’t but if they want they could & it’s good I think.
• In which way do they go about doing umrah e.g. doing tawaf and sai, as it's quite rare for people to have seen the imams actually doing umrah?
YES Islam is same for reach & poor, qualified & ignorant, black & white, as well as all race, tribe, nation. Only except due to physical causes like incapacity difficulty so they also have to go out of miqaat to get in ihram & then following all the respective steps as well.
• Have the imams of Masjid Al Haram ever entered the Kaaba, as the imams of Masjid nabwi have entered the tomb of the prophet (S.A.W)?
This depends on availability & their will but the fact is entering to Hatim is equal to entering Kaaba. Actually entering Kaaba is not about permission but about availability. It is bin kept closed due to maintenance.
To comments
In general entering Rawdah or going near grave is not permitted without any reason or in other word it is illegal to do so. The fact in comments r also correct that as Islam is a general religion for all so it has tolerance in such cases so many scholars gave different opinions for such less defined cases were more definition makes trouble to follow in general so in those cases we can follow any of them
But I think following them with the belief that “this is Islam, going out of it will be sinful” is not permitted as Islam is completed in the life time of Holy Prophet (Peace Salutation Blessings & Mercy be on him).So the guidance of scholars can be taken as shortcut to Islam or as easy explanation of Islamic law but following them with the belief that “this is the path of haven” or considering it as “the way to get refuge from hell” is Indeed not allowed to Muslim. & to anonymous person question there is many more jobs for every Muslim male female to do, not only that to maintain Haram what the Saudis r doing well such as in Pakistan I know b/c of bin resident is to make political & local development in the Islamic unity & I believe that in every corner of the earth Islam need some service that’s y Islam is not effective in “Bait Al Maqdas”. Our sisters can rise new dawn in the history b/c every greatness in the history is based up on & caused by the hand of a great lady. & finally many things happens every were, every time but not important such as that inquired by & it’s also not anything important.
Thanking H R Staff
Regards for all from Pakistan

I think it is not wajib to perform Umrah if the Imams enter to Makkah as they reside in Makkah and as they enter for living in Makkah. But if they perform Umrah , it will be as nafal.Umrah means Tawaful Bait and the Sayee. If they want to perform Umrah while living in Makkah, they have to go out of Miqat or they can perform Umrah from Tanyeem & Ziranah. But both will be nafal umrah. My thought is personal view, it may be wrong. Ustagfirullah.

a famous scholar from saudi came to our local mosque... he told us that he does umrah when the umrah visas are closed for foreign people.
when i stayed in saudi we did that a couple of times,,, it was empty and less people, so less shoving and pushing.. easier and much relaxing...
so i guess the imams do that.. x
