Madeenah Khutbah Summary

Sheikh Salaah Al Budair
Topic: Be United / Unity / Disunity
11/05/2012

The Respected Shaykh Began The Khutbah By Saying The Following: All Praise Be To Allah, The Lord Of The Worlds, And May Salutations, Prayer, Peace And Blessings Descend Upon His Beloved, The Best Of Creation, Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alayhi Wasalam.

The Respected Shaykh Began Saying That Allah Has Commanded Us To Help And Assist Each Other And Thereafter Mentioning Quran Ayaats As Well As Ahadith Relating To This Throughout The Khutbah. In The Khutbah We Were Told Not Be Cowards And Not To Break Ties With Each Other. The Shaykh Mentioned How Allah Knows Everything And Informed The Gathering As Usual That We Should Fear Allah And Adopt The Quality Of Taqwah.

Allah Has Created Us As One Ummah And We Are All Brothers. We Should All Be United And Not Follow Shaytaans Wishes Of Us Being Separated From Each Other As He Wishes That We Listen And Follow Him In Order To Deviate Us From The Right Path.

‘Oh Believers Abstain From Suspicion, For Indeed Much Suspicion Is A Sin. And Spy Not.’ (49:12)

The Shaytaans Get Together And Ask Each Other What They Have Done Throughout The Day And They All Mention How They Have Made People Do Things Wherein Allah Is Displeased. One Shaytaan Breaks The Ties Of A Husband And Wife And Thereafter He Gets The Praise And Loving By The Shaytaan Because Ties Were Broken. Shaytaan Likes The Separation Of The Ummah And Separating Love Ones.

‘O You Who Believe! Let Not (One) People Laugh At (Another) People Perchance They May Be Better Than They, Nor Let Women (Laugh) At (Other) Women, Perchance They May Be Better Than They.’ (49:11)

The Shaykh Thereafter Said How The Enemies Of Islam Are Propagating Hatred And Thereafter Told The Congregation To Stand United. If We Want Peace In Our Countries And In Our Life We Have To Stand Together. The Shaykh Again Emphasised That We Need To Be United. The Shaykh Then Informed The Gathering To Hold On To The Rope Of The Correct Way And Stay Away From Disunity. Be Servants Of Allah And Be Brothers Although In The Newspapers And Tv The Disunity Of Muslims Are Highlighted Often.

'Every Good Deed Is Sadaqah (An Act Of Charity). Indeed It Is A Good Deed To Meet Your Brother With A Pleasant Face And To Pour Water From Your Pail Into His Pot.’ (Tirmidhi)

Our Unity Is Amanah That We All Share And Its Our Responsibility The Shaykh Added. We Should Take The Right Precautions To Save Our Deen And Be One Ummah So We Can Get Peace. The Enemies Want To Take Away Unity And Allah Has Forbid Us From Having Enmity From Each Other. We Should Bring The Quality Of Sabr And Patience In Addition To Bringing The Quality Of Taqwah So That We Can Become Successful.

‘None Of You Will Believe Until He Loves For His Brother That Which He Loves For Himself.’ (Bukhari)

Don’t Frighten Or Hurt Muslims And Build Bridges Which Are Broken And Mend The Hearts Of The People Which Are Broken As Islam Teaches Us We Should Stand Together. Peace And Salutations Upon The Beloved Prophet Of Allah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam And Then The Shaykh Ended The Second Khutbah By Praying For The Khulafaa E Rashideen, Praying For The Ummah At Large, Praying For Respect, Ease, Unity, The People Of Syria And All Those That Are Suffering Throughout The Entire World, The Oppressors And That Allah Helps And Assists Us. The Shaykh Also Mentioned In The Dua The People Of Palestine, Baitul Maqdis, And That Allah Elevate Us And Give Us Independence And Goodness In The Hereafter.

how can there be unity among the muslims when everyone keeps promoting their own kind. when it comes to marriage people are marrying within their own tribe or family. aren't the true blooded arabs guilty of this? what is a true blooded arab anyway. we are suppose to differ in piety. the shuyook need to set a better example.

Set a better example in what way? Just curious.

That said, it's not only the "true blooded Arabs" who are guilty of marrying their own. You even have that amongst Indians/Pakistanis/Bangladeshis, Somalis, Turks and others.

akhi unity isnt marrying from other tribes , many people marry from their own not due to arrogance its just being accustomed to a certain culture for example an arab might not marry a pakistani because he cannot understand her language vice versa unity is supporting ur muslim brother , shuyukh due their best , u cannot accuse them of needing to set a better example please clarify

Jazakallah for the translation.

Islam teaches brotherhood, and many other aspects to gain unity among people.
So many close families do not get along, borthe/sister, brother/brother, sister/sister, and many other relations, so where does inter marrying different nationalities fit in to gain unity?

I don't know from where that idea came from.

The Shaykh quoted the hadith that says it all:
‘None Of You Will Believe Until He Loves For His Brother That Which He Loves For Himself.’ (Bukhari)

And about the 'shuyook setting a better example' didn't the quran verses he quote just say enough?
‘O You Who Believe! Let Not (One) People Laugh At (Another) People Perchance They May Be Better Than They, Nor Let Women (Laugh) At (Other) Women, Perchance They May Be Better Than They.’ (49:11)

And the shuyookh do not set examples for us, that has been set for us more that 1400 years ago.

God Bless!
