Recently I saw the video of namaaz-e-janaza of princess Lulwa ,in that the photographers are taking pictures of sheikh taalib who is leading the namaz is it jaaiz to take pictures during salaat? I think in islamm photo's are not allowed anywhere anytime. If someone knows kindly share the knowledge with us.

Naturally when salaah is taking place photography should not be taking place, however journalists will do what they have to do and there is little else we can say.

photography is said to be allowed by the scholars in very few case such for passport , visa, identification, security etc. it must be avoided as much as possible

Very nice recitation by Sheikh Juhany, I hope he continues leading for a long time, Ameen

In my trip in Ramadan 1431 (2010) I was stopped from taking pictures on a few occasions by the policemen/guards, I hated it.

Why can't I take a photo when there are professional photographers taking pictures of Sheikh Talib leading Janaza? or when the Prince is in Mecca for the KABA Washing? or the Governor of Mecca is praying the Salat Istisqa? My personal pictures and their 'professional' pictures are both similar, which is they are for memory and souvenir.

What is wrong if I take it, and not wrong if they take it? If they stop me, they should stop them too. I really don't like that.

NOTE: Im not saying if photography is haram or not, I'm just pointing out the double standards used sometimes, and Im sorry if my ignorance hurts/offends anyone. Please Forgive me. But i stated what I felt was wrong.

If people don't obey the law and commands of Allah then you shouldn't follow. Besides why take pictures, Allah give you senses and a powerful mind and brain to remember. We only live once and that time should be used to worship Allah a reminder for myself and foremost

Among the ahaadeeth which state that photography is haraam and that it is a major sin is the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him), who said, “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: ‘Whoever makes an image in this world will be told to breathe the soul into it on the Day of Resurrection, and he will never be able to do that.’” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim). He [Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him)] also narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Every image-maker will be in the Fire, and every image that he made will be made to appear to him and will torment him in Hell.” Ibn ‘Abbaas said: “If you must do that, then make trees and things that have no soul.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim). The general meaning of the ahaadeeth is that it is absolutely forbidden to take images of anything that has a soul.
