just to mention it sheikh shuraim was standing behind sheikh mahir and juhany for the past couple of days today he was wearing a black bisht and red imamah it would be good if other imams could stand behind one another

well, its not just sheikh shuraim standing from past 3 nights, its sheikh talib standing behind them from past 6 - 7 YEARS!! further, search in history, for 21st night 1431, he corrected sheikh mahir for his recitation.

alhamdulilah. I asked my friend abt this who lives in makkah and is saudi and is close to the admin of the masjed. He said that due to security reasons, all the imams do not come out to stand on the first saff but most of them are praying in the private area of the masjed, (which is forbidden to the public so we dont see them). Usually once the imam who has lead his 10 units is whisked back inside. For example shaykh shaykh maahir will come out when shaykh juhany has finished, then shaylh juhany will go back inside etc. This is a good idea because, na3uthubillah, there are some misguided people out there who slander this haramain imams and they want to harm them. At times when the masjed is very busy like ramadan, the security forces and the army have to take extra precaution in order to protect them and the worshippers. Dont forget incidents which have occured previously where the masjed was attacked and taken over. So basically its not that the imams are not praying or dont want to stand on the first saff, its for the safety of all the people
Ofcourse at least one or two imams stand behind the leading imam in order to correct if need be and this is usually shaykhs, taalib and humaid. Nowadays shaykh shuraym is leading the tahajjud salah so he stays in the masjed from taraweeh time these days...thats why weve been seeing him standing on the awwwal saff last few days,alhamdulilah.
