Very nice imitation of shiekh shuraim considering that its very hard to imitate him! I hadn't seen this video before. This was during sheikh sudais' much publicized visit to Pakistan a few years ago i think in 2007 to be exact. I remember it was almost like a 24 hour coverage of shiekh sudais activities in the country by the news channels. Shiekh sudais led the maghrib prayers in lahore at the Badshahi mosque and a few days later the juma pareyrs in Shah Faisal mosque in Islamabad. There were huge crowds at the prayers. There are lot of vidoes of that on youtube. It was pretty awsome! I hope Shiekh Shuraim also visits the country!

This was at a Jamiat Ahle hadith conference in Lahore during the sheikh's visit to Pakistan. Sheikh Sudais gave a beautiful lecture on the excellence of the people of Hadeeth.

Sheikh Shuraim has been to pakistan once,but only stopped at the airport,because the plane was landed intentionally by the minister in order for Sheikh Shuraim to stay there for atleast few hours. Sheikh Shuraim led the prayers at the airport.He was on the way to his home from Indonesia. That was rare lol.
It's amazing how Sheikh Shuraim has been to Pakistan even if if was only at the airport and how the minister wanted him to stay for a few hours! I saw the videos of when he was in Indonesia, people were jumping over each other trying to shake his hand and he couldn't even go through. :)

sheikh saud's current recitation though slow is indeed much powerful and very deep than his old recitations. Its filled with total respect, awe and fine-style tuned up tone mashaAllah. I really enjoy his recent recitations very much.

Also, I liked that brother's qirat. May Allah reward him. And you are absolutely right, sheikh shuraim's tune was close to this in 90s. But I have heard many imitations,and none come close to Sh.Shuraim. Sheikh Shuraim's fans and I can agree on that. If I offended you or that brother in some way, I like to apologize. Having been listening to Shaikh Shuraim since I was 12 years old, I can say that this brother maybe ( I am being generous and trying to be nice) sounds 10 % like Shaikh Shuraim. There was no variation of the endings of Shaikh shuraim, brother kept doing the same ending tone to ayats over and over again and it got very repetitive. Shaokh Shuraim seldom uses the endings(though he does use them) the brother used. And brother MUHAMMAD who commented that he has mastered his art of tajweed, the reciter does need to work on his tajweed (especially the Madds where he never stretches any Mad), tajweed doesn't necessarily mean ONLY Makharij, there is more to it than that. Anyways, I give the reciter some praise for trying to imitate Shaikh Shuraim, good luck to him next time.

This brother overdid the imitation of the end-ayah Madds and he did it at every end ayah! Also he did not succeed much in copying that.
I wonder how Sheikh Sudais felt like when it was his old friend being copied before him! Could he even recognize this or just thought it was just another recitation?
maybe people are doing Gheebat here by saying hes this or he cant recite like shuraim, if the recitor would not like what all you people have said then its gheebat and if the gheebat of a person you do is not true then its slandering plus gheebat, two al kabair sins, two major sins.

the maads are fine. the go accordance with the arab tajweed. maddul munfasil and maddul-aridh waqfi are not comprehended due to its importance so no need to be angry. the recitation is beautiful
There are other Shuraim immitations on youtube by Sheikh saad nomani who can immitate over 80 Sheikhs. You should check them the're pretty good even though no one can immitate Sheikh SHURAIM. Once Sheikh saad nomani came to a mosque near my house and immitiated Sheikh Shuraim and Sudais, though i didn't know Sheikh Shuraim's name then but had been listening to him since gr.4. But, Sheikh Shuraim still can't be imitated- he's too good.
There is no such things as arab tajweed, tajweed is simply tajweed, it is universal and hence should be taught that way. I don't mean to offend you brother, but sometimes it is nice to know what you are talking about rather than stereotyping which has no place in Islam, Allahummah di na fee man hadaik

Sheikh Shuriam has visited Pakistan twice, Karachi airport and islamabad for 3 days from 1st May to 4th May 2005.
