I notice that last year on the 13th night, there was no qunoot in the witr. Does any body know if there is a reasoning behind this as i would like to improve my knowledge. Jazakallah. Please remember the ummah of Rasool S.A.W in your duas especially those in Palestine, Gaza, Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa and all over the world.
does anyone know why there is no dua for the night of 13th?? in Madinah they have.. may i know why?? just curious..

Sheikh never made dua but i dont no y...
it is from the sunnah NOT to do dua every night, therefore the sheikh was following the sunnah, may Allah protect the kingdom of saudia arabia and keep it upon tawheed and authentic sunnah.
Because in the madhab they follow it is not sunnah to do dua-e-qunoot on every night, hence to fulfill the sunnah they occasionally miss out the dua. This is also why they sometimes pray 3 rak'ah witr without the sitting because that is also been narrated as the practice of the prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him. However, you must appreciate people hold different views. I.e In the hanafi madhab they have to do dua in every witr.

Question
What is the ruling on reciting the supplication of Al-Qunut in Witr prayer during the nights of Ramadhan? Is it permissible to leave it off?
Answer
Al-Qunut is a Sunnah (i.e., supererogatory act) in the Witr prayer. If a person leaves it off sometimes there is no harm in that.

Question
Some of the Imams continuously make the supplication of Al-Qunut in the Witr prayer every night. Has this been reported from our Salaf?
Answer
There is no harm in that. Rather, it is Sunnah, because when the Prophet :saw: taught Al-Hasan bin 'Ali (radhiyAllaahu anh) Al-Qunut for the Witr prayer, he did not order him to leave it off sometimes and not to always say it. This proves that both matters are permissible. For this reason it is confirmed from Ubayy bin Ka'b (radhiyAllaahu anh) that when he would lead the Companions (radhiyAllaahu anhumaa') in prayer in the Masjid of the Messenger of Allah (sallalaahu alahy wa sallam), he would leave off Al-Qunut some nights. This was probably so that he could teach the people that it was not obligatory. And Allah is the Giver of success.

the shaykh sudais himself made witr only.. coz i saw the LIVE telecast from makkah here in local tv, its the same.. the prayer was ended by Witr.. Allah knows best why that happened..

which surah is this?
Sheikh Sudais recited from Surah Raad 18 to Surah Ibrahim end. He recited really well especially the verses which state "Were you to count Allah's blessings, you would never be able to number them. Indeed, man is unjust and ungrateful." Thanks.
