Could you please tell me who was the Imam for the Asr Salaah in the Makkah Haram on the 11 July 2009 and 12 July 2009.I read the Asr salaah in the Makkah Haram and would like to know whatis his name. asked by brother Imraan

Assalaam u alaikum, Yes, from 11th Rajab to 21st Rajab (which falls between 4th July to 14th July) Sheikh Mahir Al-Muaiqily has been leading Asr, Maghrib and Isha whilst Sheikh Sudais has been leading Fajr and Dhuhr. From 15th July to approx 25th July, I believe Sheikh Khayyat will lead Dhuhr and Asr Salaats. Allah knows best. As for whether Sheikh Muaiqily returns home or stays in the Haraam between Salaats, I do not know. I would assume though, that he would not return home, especially in the peak periods (i.e. Sh'aban, Ramadhan, Dhuh Hijjah) when there is a lot of traffic. Allah knows best. Assalaam u alaikum
When I went for Umrah in July 1999 (1420) Sheikh Ash-Shuraim lead Maghrib, Ishaa, Fajr and Dhuhr and then Maghrib, Ishaa, Fajr, and Jumuah with Sheikh Omer Subayyl leading the Asr prayer in between. From the Thursday Maghrib till Jumuah it was Sheikh ash-Shuraim and Sheikh Ali Mulla all the way with Sheikh Hassan (I'm not entirely sure about it) for Tahajjud Adhaan and Sheikh Hadrawi for second Jumuah Adhaan. Maa shaa Allah!
does anyone know why shiekh sudais and shiekh shuraim do not lead the prayers as much as they used to in the past? Their appereances are becoming more and more infrequent.
yes please answer Ahson's question,im curious too. are they getting rest or something? i would like to see them more frequently especially sheikh shuraim... but im happy now since they lead taraweeh but about the other salahs?
