'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As, may Allah be pleased with them, reported: I heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Verily, Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it from the people, but He takes away knowledge by taking away the scholars, so that when He leaves no learned person, people turn to the ignorant as their leaders; then they are asked to deliver religious verdicts and they deliver them without knowledge, they go astray, and lead others astray. Hadith number in Sahih Muslim [Arabic only]: 4828 NEWS: On Monday (yesterday), Sheikh Ibn Jibreen (Rahimahullah)passed away at 1400. He will be buried at Al-Oud cemetry in Riyadh. May Allah shower His mercy on him, and raise his ranks in paradise.
Shaykh AsSudaise chose the particular verse in the first raka'ah as a reminder to all of us after the death of Shaykh Abdullah ibn Jibreen earlier that night. May Allah have mercy on us and them.
