why did he repeat the first line?
What do you mean "line"? You mean ayat? He repeated two ayats. In the first attempt he broke the second ayat into parts but in the second attempt he joined the whole second ayat in one breath.
because he forgot the ayaat
He go muddled up of which was the next verse. So he started again.
