It is Sunnah and AlhumdoLILLAH the Imams of Haramain are on Th Sunnah and preserve the Sunnah,
But is is good to sometimes recite different surahs , like once in couple of months ,
Sheikh Albani tells a story about himself ,
He was in jordan in a masjid and the imam didnt show up so the way he looked like people thought he was a good man so they asked him to lead(they did not know who he was) It was Friday so he Read in first Rakaat Ka-Ha -Ya - Ayn - sa'ad Surah Maryam from beginning and when he went in rukoo the whole masjid went In Sajdah!!
U know why? coz people were so used to it they did not even realise it was SURAH MARYAM!! all they knew was that it was friday and he imam will go in sajdah in the first rakaat!!
PEOPLE GET PROGRAMMED!! it like reflex action
So offcourse after the salaat they had a big Fitnah( argument) in the masjisd coz all of them went in sajdah and sheikh was in rukoo and when he got up from rukoo they got up from sajdah and didnt know wht to do !!
So it is good to switch once in a while , just like with Duaa Al qunoot in witr in ramadan , it was proved that in time of sahabah they will not make duaa sometimes in witr.
I would like to share my umrah experience. I am from Asia and not used of Sajdah on Friday Fajr. So, when the iman and most people did sajdah I just do rukoo.
Last week or last 2 weeks there is a recording from Masjidilharam showed people did sajdah instead of rukoo.
Maybe our friends outside there could give us some opinion on these. Your advise is highly appreciated.
